Bailey Martin

Battalion Chief

Bailey Martin is a Battalion Chief with the City of Richmond, Department of Fire and Emergency Services. Chief Martin also works part time with the Virginia Department of Fire Programs. He has over 21 years of fire service experience. He holds Bachelor's Degree from Randolph-Macon Virginia and a Master's Degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in Homeland Security. This is his second year presenting at the Virginia Fire Equity and Diversity Conference. He has also presented at the Virginia Fire Chief's Conference. He has filled a variety of roles at RFD including roles in administration, safety, Swift Water, HAZMAT, Technical Rescue and a variety of other operational roles. He is also a key member of the department's DEI committee, which is focused on looking at department issues through the lens of DEI. Chief Martin has been married to his wife Christy for 15 years and has 5 daughters ranging in age from 8 to 28.. He is also an active member of the Sappony tribe in North Carolina.
