Mary Koval

Ms. Koval earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Master of Arts in Sociology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, PA. Her concentration area in Sociology is Social Inequality and Sociology of Gender. She has over 15 years of Human Services experience with various types of agencies including suicide hotline, domestic violence, and children with disabilities. Ms. Koval also has 4 years of Higher Education Administration experience in admission and enrollment. She has been teaching at the college level since November 2012. Ms. Koval presents information on cultural diversity and social inequality at various state and national conferences for public service agencies. She is Trauma-Informed and Trauma-Support Certified, as well as a Certified Trainer in both of these areas. Ms. Koval moved to Richmond from Western PA in June 2011. Ms. Koval has 2 dogs and 3 cats and fosters puppies for a local dog rescue. Ms. Koval currently works full time creating Career Development opportunities and future leaders for current employees at Goodwill of Central & Coastal Virginia.
