Katie Han

Language Access Program Director - Fairfax County Public Schools

Katie Han was born in South Korea and immigrated to the United States at the age of 12. She earned a Bachelor’s in Spanish and Education and later obtained a Master’s degree in Supervision and Administration from Virginia Tech. Katie began her professional journey in education, by teaching Spanish at Woodbridge High School. She then dedicated 12 years to Fairfax County Public Schools, serving in various roles including Resource Teacher, School-based Administrator, and Language Services Specialist. Recognized for her innovative efforts to bridge the communication gaps during the pandemic, Katie was named a finalist for Outstanding Non-School-Based Professional Employee in 2022.  In December 2022, she joined the Office of Public Affairs, as the Language Access Program Director, where she currently leads efforts to ensure equitable language access for all.
